The Ozone Enduro V4 has undergone a complete re-design using the latest construction technology and design software features. Keeping true to its purpose as an incredibly versatile performance kite the fourth version of this all time favourite takes performance and feeling to the next level.
Having been long recognized as one of the best all-round kites on the market for any style and any conditions, it was an exciting challenge for the Ozone design team to take on a re-design of the Enduro. Utilising a new Continuous Curve Leading Edge construction and Transverse Sail Shaping, each leading edge segment is now curved creating a perfectly formed arc from tip to tip and the canopy perfectly matches the arc.
Transverse Sail Shaping has also been incorporated to perfectly match the new Continuous Curve Leading Edge – the additional panels attaching to the leading edge optimise canopy tension in this critical area of the profile section.
These latest design features reduce parasitic drag and create a cleaner surface at the most important area of the airfoil. The result is less turbulent airflow, which positively affects the lift to drag ratio. New thinner bridle line diameters reduce drag even further to increase overall performance.
The Enduro V4 is incredibly smooth in the air with a large de-power range, an amazing bar feeling with progressive handling, boost for jumping and drift in the waves. Compared to previous models the canopy is noticeably tighter, working in harmony with the Continuous Curve Leading Edge offering more back line reaction throughout the bar throw.
Freeride:
For Freeriders, the Ozone Enduro V4 excels no matter what board you choose to ride on the day. From twintip, surfboard or foil board the smooth power delivery, refined predictable handling and excellent de-power allows you to relax and enjoy the ride.
Waves:
In the Waves, the handling, de-power and drift opens up a world of opportunity and for surf freestyle the progressive handling with smooth lift make spinning and airborne tricks easy to learn and land. The Enduro V4 is not as dedicated a wave kite as the Ozone Reo, but it still delivers a solid wave riding performance more suited to tricks.
The Ozone Enduro V4 also makes freestyle progress fun and easy from your first unhooked moves, kite loops and right up to advanced unhooked riding. The Enduro V4 delivers accessible pop and drop making learning technical moves and handle passes easier, without needing to be as aggressive in your riding compared with a C-kite such as the Ozone C4.
The Enduro features multiple back line adjustments to customize steering pressure and turn speed. Combined with our Variable Bridle Geometry, this allows you to ultimately customize the feeling and performance of your kite.
Freestyle:
The Enduro makes freestyle progress fun and easy from your first hooked in moves, boosting airs, rotations and kite loops. For unhooked freestyle the Enduro delivers accessible performance making learning your first handle passes right up to technical moves a breeze.
Variable Bridle Geometry Settings:
Quick and easy to change with no extra lines to add or remove give the Enduro multiple options for setting up your kite.
Freeride: The Freeride setting offers the ideal balance in performance and feeling for all-round riding in any conditions. This is the factory setting and we recommend you try your Enduro V3 first on the Freeride setting.
Wave: The Wave setting decreases the bar pressure, and increases steering reactivity in all states of power and de-power - it is easier to turn the kite while de-powered when riding a wave.
Freestyle: The Freestyle setting increases sheeting bar pressure, increases power in the kite loop and increases pop for unhooked tricks. If you prefer a heavier and direct feel this could be the setting for you!
Backline Adjustments:
Backline adjustments allow you to further tune the Enduro to your personal riding style and preference. The attachment closest to the trailing edge offers lighter bar pressure and faster turning. The attachment closest to the leading edge offers heavier bar pressure and slower turning. When combined with the Variable Bridle Geometry, this allows you to customize the feeling and performance of your kite even further.
Water Relaunching:
The relaunch is almost automatic, just turn the bar and it’s in the air. The Enduro's constant power and fluid steering combined with user friendly characteristics makes the Enduro a dream for accelerating any learning curve. It is powerful enough to tow into the largest of waves, yet its low aspect shape will keep you on your board and not eject you when the trigger is pulled.
Outlined below are some of the very important design features:
- Performance - mid aspect, 3 strut model
- New high volume inflate/deflate valve for quicker setup and pack down
- One-Pump system for quick and easy setup
- 4-Line Pulleyless System - simplicity reduces set up time and eliminates checking your lines twice. Pulley-less equals a more direct to kite feel and no parts to worry about getting jammed with sand or wearing out
- Teijin Techno Force sail material
- Comparable feeling throughout the size range
- Light weight aerodynamic leading edge scuff pads
- Refined tip shape for precise, intuitive handling for faster turning providing a more constant pressure throughout the Depower range.
- Multiple settings for handling heavier bar pressure and slower handling and lighter bar pressure and faster handling respectively
- Easy relaunch – just turn the bar
- Refined control system - below the bar 100% depower safety system allows the bar to spin without twisting up your leash.
Materials: Ozone's philosophy has always been to use only the finest materials available for any of our products and for our Kitesurf range this is no different. Tube kites take a particularly harsh beating due to the sand and salt environment therefore we decided to use the industries tried and tested sail cloth to ensure our kites keep their designed factory trim even after hundreds of hours of use.
- Main Sail - For the main body of the sail, Ozone use Tejin Nylon Rip-stop. Not the cheapest material option but by far the best material available in the industry.
- LE and Struts - For the leading edge and struts we have chosen Dimension Polyant Dacron, also the leading Dacron manufacturer in the World. The structural part of a tube kite takes unbelievable amounts of stress and its imperative that a quality cloth is used otherwise the kites characteristics will change.
- Bladders - We use the leading PU material for all our bladders and we are meticulous with their production to ensure you have a bladder that will not fail during normal use. Bladders can be a kiter’s worst nightmare; it was ours before we started making our own LEI’s! We use the finest valve machine available to electrically join the valves to the leading edge and struts.
- Flying Lines - New for all 2018 kites, land and water is a new Dyneema line that is thinner and also stiffer due to a better coating technique. The thinner lines still retain the 300kg breaking strain so we have gained performance thanks to less parasitic drag as the lines fly through the air. The stiffer lines are also a lot easier to handle and do not tangle easily making your rigging time hassle free.
Sizes: 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14m
For 10 to 25 knots a rider of the following weight range should use the following size kite:
To ride in more than 25 knots, it’s best to step down one size.
Who is this kite designed for: The Ozone Enduro V4 has been designed to be an all-round kite to allow you to improve your riding whether you are an intermediate to advanced rider interested in learning to ride unhooked the Enduro is the kite to own.
