For 2008 Nobile has maintained the winning
shape that made Kite skim boarding accessible for everyone
but has added a textured UV stable top sheet.
This not only has the benefit of maintaining the good looks
of your board over time but provides a non slip surface that
is both easy to hold and gives extra traction should your
feet be off the pads at any time.
The Nobile kite specific skim board is designed to be an inexpensive
addition to your board bag that adds to your time on the water
by working on the days when you wouldn't normally be able
to ride.
The parallel sided outline and optional fins on our board
enable better tracking and more stable riding whilst still
maintaining a free and loose feel.
Ride with or without fins depending on your preference. With
- providing positive tracking, better upwind ability and easier
riding, without - for a skatier feel and the ability to ride
in incredibly shallow water.
Conventionally, skim boards offer incredible light wind performance
but can be handful if the water is choppy or the wind increases.
Its the equivalent of a light wind insurance policy thats
guaranteed to put a smile on your face whenever you ride it.

Rocker Profilers: Supplied with all
Nobile 2008 boards, their patented Tip Rocker Profilers
are specifically matched to the profile of the fin.
It's no secret that in choppy water some boards generate
more spray than others. What's not commonly known though
is that the spray is normally caused by water hitting
your front foot and being kicked up into your eyes.
Changing the rocker of the board changes the release
point of the water but can also adversely effect the
performance of the board. By placing the profilers under
the fins on the heelside edge - you are effectively
adding around 5mmm of kick into only the ultimate part
of the tail of the board. In most cases this is enough
to change the angle the board rides at in the water
and eliminates the spray. If you don't have a problem
or are fortunate enough to ride in flat water you can
leave them out for the most efficient rocker possible.
What a great light wind tool - I am still going out into the
waves even when the wind is really light. The board is wide
enough to change direction, riding toeside and can be ridden
in the shallows with the fins off.
Ride in barefoot or with wetsuit boots for
grip if you want, but I have found it works great with a pair
of old trainers!
