The Slingshot Tyrant 2013 is a high performance short board designed to compliment any kitesurfers aggressive aerial style. The Tyrant lets you put more power in your wave riding.

 

The Slingshot Tyrant has a deeper single concave under foot with a double concave between the fins. It also has a more "pulled in" tail making it sharp and explosive.

 

For 2013, Slingshot have introduced a new insert layout for easier strap installation and industry compatible high impact fin system that provides extra protection and lets you put more power in your wave riding. Ask anyone who’s been on the Tyrant, it’s the perfect balance of incredible high performance and long lasting durability.

 

Now available in a choice of WVX (maximum performance) and EPX (maximum durability) construction.

 

WVX (Bamboo Veneer and Fluid-X):
WVX construction is built with layers of bamboo wood, resin and weaved lightweight fibreglass combined with a strong EPS core. During each layering step vacuum bagging techniques are used to enhance the bonding strength. Proprietary to Slingshot, this construction controls the durability and flex of the board. The result is a proven lightweight, impact resistant board. A final layer of glass provides the highest fit and finish of any kite surfboard on the market. WVX construction features our Fluid X Vibration Dampening System for an unrivaled smooth ride. These lightweight boards are the next step in the evolution of kite surfboards that deliver the perfect balance between performance and durability with elegant styling.

 

EPX (EPS + FLUID X):
EPX is Slingshot’s new construction design that combines the latest laminated sandwich construction with high end EPS foam core and our new Fluid X Vibration Dampening System. This combination creates a high performance board that is strong and easy to use. The EPX construction also features new graphic technology that incorporates vivid colors making the board a true piece of art. The EPX construction is an ideal option for riders looking for a durable board with the latest technology to improve their riding.

 

Fluid X - Vibration Dampening System:
Fluid X was born from the ski and snowboard industry. It made sense to look toward progressive snowsports technology to provide state of the art dampening control to reduce vibration and create a clean and smooth feel throughout all our high performance boards. Fluid X also provides an anti-torsion property that runs from tip to tail and it’s visco-elastic stringer improves the dynamic behavior of the core construction that allows more flex, more response and the smoothest feel unlike anything you’ve experienced on a kite surfboard. With Fluid X, we finally manage to give our boards a Polyester feel with the durability of an epoxy lay up.

 

Slingshot Tyrant 5'8":
Breaking boundaries, the Slingshot Tyrant 5’8” meets high wind freestyle / wave riding kitesurfers. The 5’8” Tyrant is a tri fin, lets you put more power in your wave riding and makes it excellent for small mushy wave where performance is still a priority.

 

Ride it strapped or strapless. The tri fin configuration also allows for snappy turns in the pocket and solid drive down the line.

 

Slingshot Tyrant 5'11":
Breaking boundaries, the Slingshot Tyrant 5’11” meets the needs of expert kitesurfers. The 5’11” Tyrant is a tri fin, true to the bone short board that does it all without the parabolic carbon rails as in its sibling the Tyrant 6’1”.

 

The 5’11” has a deeper single concave under foot with double between the fins. It also has a more “pulled in” tail than the 6’1” making it sharp and explosive. The Tyrant 5’11” WVX version also translates into tighter rail traction and a lively feel.

 

Slingshot Tyrant 6'1":

Fractionally thicker over the stringer under the chest with flatter entry for paddling, the Slingshot Tyrant 6’1” has a much smoother blend of curve, bottom contour (single double concave) and outlines that harmonize for clean release and drive.

 

The all NEW incorporated WVX Bamboo construction delivers a more crisp feel and spring when loading and unloading the rail. EPX construction and the rail will also make the Tyrant the most durable kite surfboard offered today to handle everything from hard lip smacking to aggressive aerial moves.
