Weather conditions can change at a moments notice, power kites have extreme power and everyone at some point pushes the limit, so it's imperative we consider safety for ourselves and others. Use common sense.

  • Please wear at minimum a helmet for any wind conditions.
Wear both knee and elbow pads if winds become strong. Shoes or boots with ankle support are best.
  • Check your site for obstructions and users particularly pedestrians, pets, livestock or sea life.
  • Never fly your kite near buildings, power lines, cliffs, airports or roads
  • Never fly your kite where there is not enough space to launch and land your kite safely
  • Before going out, check equipment is properly maintained.
  • Please read all the product instructions and safety guidelines
  • Always learn to fly with a smaller traction kite before attempting to fly a kite intended for kiteboarding
  • Never kiteboard in an offshore wind
  • Never kiteboard if you cannot safely handle the power of the kite
  • Do not fly in thunderstorms, lightning or at night
  • Never kiteboard in congested areas with swimmers, boats, water craft, solid obstacles or other water users
  • Never kiteboard alone or without a rescue craft on hand. Always have someone watching you
  • Always kiteboard with appropriate safety equipment such as a helmet, knife (to cut flying lines) buoyancy aid, protective eyewear and kite retaining leash
  • Never attach yourself permanently to the kite.

  • At all times wear a helmet. Even in low winds the kite can often pull you out of the buggy.
  • Do a Site Assessment - Beware of dangerous terrain, trees, potholes, large rocks and other obstacles that may cause injury.
  • Only ride on land where you have permission.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained regularly - Tighten bolts, wheels and fixings as required.
  • Make sure that footstraps are loose enough to take you feet out in an emergency
  • Never attach yourself permanently to the kite or the kite to the buggy
  • Never buggy if you cannot handle the power of the kite
  • Always try and give other buggiers a wide berth
  • Always wear suitable strong footwear that has good ankle support and protect your eyes with a visor or similar.
