The Prolimit Impact Series features high density neoprene padding in the chest and back area. The padding padding performs a double function in protecting the rider from water / object impact.

 

The design of the front panel protects the rib area from the spreader bar riding up onto the ribs.

 

Incorporating the impact panels into the wetsuit aids in freedom of movement while you ride and saves you money buying a potentially expensive impact vest!

What we're looking for is a wetsuit that is designed to withstand the toughest of conditions that our sport can throw at us, yet have that in-built flexibility which allows us as a rider to perform the way we want to play! They even look good too!

 

Shape:
Custom designing the right curves into the shaped seams of Prolimit wetsuits, depends on a combinations of 3D CAD design and real world fitting. In the end it gives Natural shape to their products. The seams/shape guarantees a perfect fit and optimal performance.

Less seams/curved lines means less shape. Less shape means the neoprene needs to stretch more to adapt to your body.

Stretching means that the neoprene will get thinner and will lose some of its insulation ability. Prolimit uses lots of Natural shaping seams for better fit, more stretch and movement, more insulation and warmth!

 

Materials:

• Airflex 2 Neoprene:
  Through ongoing research and development into thread and laminating technology, Prolimit's innovative Airflex 2 Neoprene rede-fines all dual laminate materials. The new inner lining features increased flexibility and abrasion resistance. The second generation Aircore neoprene ensures the lowest weight available in neoprene today, while radically maximizing flex and limiting thermal transfer. The lightest, warmest stretchiest neoprene on the planet with maximum UV tolerance.
• Water Repellent Double Lined Materials:
  Prolimit uses on all double lined wetsuits a water repellent coating, which keeps its characteristics close to Single Lined Mesh Wetsuits.
• G–Rex Neoprene:
  Prolimit use two kinds of G-rex neoprene in our wetsuits; closed cell G-rex mesh and a double lined version. G-Rex mesh neoprene is an extremely versatile blend of neoprene which is comparable with other high performance “Hyper stretch” neoprenes on the market. Focusing on developing the memory characteristics and durability. G-Rex Double Lined has a GR lining on the inside and outside of the suit to ensure that the neoprene laminate is virtually indestructible.

Construction:

• Skin, Chest and Back Panels:
  Prolimit use Skin Chest and back panels as a standard construction on all Prolimits high-end wetsuits. The panels are 40% warmer than lined materials. The SKIN chest and back panels preventing windchill on most of the torso. SKIN chest and back panels are a MUST for thermal insulation.
• Seam Lock:
  On all three or four way seam connections, Prolimit use a big extra reinforcement patch, which strengthens the seams in this area. Manually applied patches are strong, durable and increase the lifetime of their suits.
• Titanium Coating:
  Airflex & G-Rex neoprene feature a titanium coating, which improves the thermal insulation of the suit by up to 20 percent. This coating is placed onto the in side of the neoprene, where it reflects heat back. This is done without an increase in thickness, or reduction in flexibility of the neoprene.
• FTM Blind Stitched Seams
  Triple glued, outside of the seam is Blind stitched, Inside is Stitch less with an extra FTM seal on the outside of the seam. Strong, watertight, high wear resistant and UV proof.

• Waterblock System:
  This waterblock layer became a standard in high-end wetsuits. Still it is a hassle with rolling down neoprene, neoprene get stuck in the zipper and closing and opening of the zipper. Prolimit has solved all this by adding an up haul string, which is attached to the zipper puller. No more hassle, easy and comfortable. An original Prolimit innovation.
• YKK Metal Zipper Puller
• EZI Zipper Puller:
  Prolimit wetsuits feature the Ezi (easy) zipper puller extension. The zippers are getting shorter. Prolimit either have to lengthen the zipper puller strap, which will get in the way during active sport, or shorten with the disadvantage that you have to be made out of elastic to be able to close the zipper by yourself. The Self-retracting zipper puller extends to full length when in use and retracts neatly when attached at the base of the zipper. This prevents the puller from getting in the way during active sports. Another original patented Prolimit innovation.
• Key Pocket
• Back-Up Shield - An extra neoprene layer behind the zipper. If water penetrates the suit, the back-up will guide it out through the water relieve hole.
• Easy Leg Entry with Velcro Leg Closure:
  All Prolimit suits are easy to get in and out of. Prolimit use easy entry leg openings for easy entry with an additional high quality Velcro wrap. These are the best for both windsurfers and kite boarders and avoid water entry.
• 5 Way Flex Protex Kneepads:
  On all double lined knee’s, Prolimit use unique ProteX 5 way flex design kneepads. High resistant, slim shaped and extremely stretchy, which won’t limit the stretch in the knee area. On full skin wetsuits, Prolimit use a Double ProteX kneepad, still extremely flexible (5 times more flex than comparable wetsuits), strong, durable and slim shaped.

What is a steamer wetsuit ?
A 'Steamer' is a wetsuit with sealed seams, usually achieved by blind stitching. This stops the majority of cold water from re-entering the suit once your body has initially heated it up. Winter wetsuits are steamers with a 5mm body and legs for warmth and 3mm arms for manoeuvrability.

I am just starting out in the kitesurfing game and have searched a lot of the websites for information and the best products, I live in the northwest of England where the water is cold most of the year around.

 

As a newbie at the sport I was loaned a Prolimit Kiteboarding Impact Steamer 09 (2009) 5/3 Double Lined Wetsuit. I feel the cold and hoped that the wetsuit would do its job, this suit is absolutely fantastic and I was in the water most of the day. It kept me cosy warm, and the impact shields are a fantastic and money saving idea!

 

The suit did not ride up when surfing nor did it when I was dragged, I am purchasing this suit as I wanted something that was warm practical and looked good and this one ticks all the boxes, an absolute must for any kitesurfer with a price tag thats a giveaway!

Fantastic Wetsuit! Loads of freedom to move, perfect for freestylers with no restrictions. Very comfy, Super warm. Built in Impact vest is ok.

 

The velcro straps stop the water shooting up your lower leg. Tested it out in heavy rain with gusts up to 50mph and was warm. Seals are good too.

 

If you kitesurf alot and want mobility, warmth and good build quality then you seriously need try out this suit.
