North introduces the Kontact; A surfboard range that will take your kitesurfing to new levels!

 

The concept is quite simple; The overall look and feel of a bigger semi-gun, scaled down to around 6‘ for kiting. The result is a board that offers excellent grip and encourages you to go as fast as possible into turns and carves and give you more confidence in pushing the next turn. These boards excel in good conditions where speed and control is key, but still maintain enough direct response and snappiness to push your limits in smaller surf.

 

The new 2010 Kontact is a no-compromise up-size board that is most suited to solid, pumping surf. Let's face it; Kiting allows you to ride with more power and speed than any other form of surfing, so why not take advantage of it?

 

With its rounded pin-tail, gunny outline and low tail rocker the North Kontact is incredibly predictable and drives hard off the bottom like no other making it perfect for the most aggressive riders who like ride with speed and power.

 

The board of choice in most conditions, this board holds a rail in even the most extreme and choppy conditions and will never let you down in a high speed turn. Thin rails give the North Kontact a lively and positive feel under your feet and the single concave throughout helps carry you through a turn and accelerate up the face. North Kontact 2010 5'9":
Developed for lighter riders, this board gives you controlled, bounce-free bottom turns and snappy cutbacks. Rider Weight: 55 to 75kg

 

North Kontact 2010 6'0":
Designed for medium to heavier weight riders, this board works in everything from small to big surf. Great drive and control through the bottom turn allows you to go more vertical than you've ever gone before. Rider Weight: 70kg to 90kg

 

North Kontact 2010 6'3":
Designed for heavier riders, this board has the same snappy turns and high peformance as the smaller boards for early planing and great upwind performance. This board also works great a a light wind tool for lighter or medium weight riders. Rider Weight: 85kg+

High Pressure Technology:
Custom Epoxy / EPS / Wood Sandwich

Derived form windsurf technology; the construction features a high strength to weight ratio with great resistance to dents and perforations, resulting in durable and high performance surf style kiteboards.

 

For 2010, North have put a strong focus on optimizing the flex and dampening properties, bringing the feeling and performance close to that of a traditional Clarkfoam / Polyester custom board.

 

A new high density "surf-style" core has been developed together with a wood sandwich / multiaxial fibre glass layup, optimizing flex, torsion and dampening.

 

Together with a high glossy polished finish, the North 2010 surfboard range has both the looks and peformance of a custom board but with far superior durability.
