| Naish Kiteboarding
Sigma Outline The Naish Sigma Outline is an aerodynamic "bird-in-flight" shape that moves much of the centre canopy area behind the tow point, resulting in a kite that has unmatched stability even at an extremely low angle of attack. The Sigma Outline also provides a linear power band and bar pressure with very easy water relaunch. |

| Naish Kiteboarding
Power Foil Canopy: The Naish Power Foil Canopy has horizontal seam shaping instead of vertical, which makes the canopy looser than with the Geo-Tech construction resulting in a kite that creates more instant lift. |
![]() |
| Low Drag Wing
Tip: This wing tip geometry reduces the overall surface of the non-lifting portion and greatly reduces drag. The more efficient the lift / drag ratio becomes, the faster the wing tip can move through the air, which allows the kite to be both quicker and more responsive through turns. |
![]() |
| Direct Response
Steering: The angle of attack on the wing tips have been increased to keep them more actively engaged. When bar input is added, the wingtip instantly reacts and produces drag, while the opposite wing tip instantly accelerates, which creates quicker turning. Relaunch is also optimized as the lines hang to the inside of the kite and have less chance of becoming wrapped around the wing tip. |

| Radial Segmented
C-Shape: Radial Segment C-Shape generates the C-arc using short linear segments to accurately form the kite's arc. |
![]() |
| Octopus Inflation
System: Proven, quick and easy singly point inflation system creating uniform pressure in the struts. The Naish exclusive one-way internal valve ensures that the pressure in the struts does not change during turns. |

| Naish Kiteboarding
Quality Construction: From bladders to stitching, every Naish kite has been meticulously checked to pass the highest quality control in the industry. Every detail is checked over before the kite leaves the factory to produce a product you can trust. |

| Molded
Trailing Edge Reinforcement: Optimal trailing edge protection with a molded reinforcement at the end of each strut. |

![]() |
| Molded Bumpers: Large thermo-molded bumpers which wrap further around the leading edge to improve seam protection when landing and launching the kite. |
![]() |
| Vertical Seam
Struts: A reduction in the number of pieces used in the struts means more precision in defining the canopy profile. The seams are also reinforced with an extra layer of webbing and double zig-zag stitches to avoid breakage. |
![]() |
| New Dacron
Trailing Edge: All Naish kites have a 100% Dacron trailing edge for enhanced durability. |

Improved Velcro Closure: The deflation valve on the leading edge of all Naish kites have a double velcro closure system to keep them closed during impact. |

| Load
Spread Wing Tip Construction: All wing tips are designed with seams running parallel to the load generated by the flying lines. These seams carry most of the load and spread it higher into the canopy. This construction avoids fatigue on the fabric and in the wing tip area, without adding weight. |

| 2-Piece Leading Edge: This construction provides better twist control of the leading edge and improves turning performance. |

The Naish Helix 2010 continues to bridge the gap between C-Shaped and Bridled kites with an engaging feel, fast turning, and punchy power.
The Naish Helix 2010 is the exotic sports car of the kiting world… pushing the envelope in both design and flying characteristics.
The Naish Helix has been radically redesigned to provide C-Shaped performance and feel, while maintaining the depower you expect out of a Bridled kite. For 2010, the Naish Helix continues to evolve with a revolutionary “Power Foil Canopy” Sigma Outline.
This platform coupled with refinements to the aspect ratio, leading edge diameter, strut foil, and arc have produced the most performance driven Sigma kite ever.
The Naish Helix 2010 provides a more engaging kiting experience. It will generate more power in the turns, and pulls you further out of the water when you jump. It is a more powerful kite overall, and is faster turning.
With speed versatility, huge jumps, kite loops, and precision handling in mind, this kite allows riders to push their limits to new heights. The Naish Helix 2010 is the next generation in ultra-performance kiteboarding.
Naish’s new Sigma design concept defines the natural evolution of using new technologies to adapt to the ever-changing performance requirements of modern kites.
Visually striking while providing amazing canopy tension, these kites have unmatched stability and wind range, precise handling, light and linear bar pressure, and unbelievably easy water re-launch capabilities. One glimpse, one ride, and you will never look at Kiteboarding the same again.
The Naish Helix 2010 uses two new patented
design features: Sigma Outline and Power Foil Canopy. Both
increase performance at different levels, and their combination
creates an amazing step forward in kite performance.
The Naish Sigma outline allows the kite to pivot more from
the centre. For the Naish Helix 2010, reducing the Sigma allows
the kite to pivot less from the centre
and turn more around the wing tip. With the Naish Helix 2010,
this gives a more aggressive and more power throughout the
turns.
Naish Sigma Outline
>
The Naish Sigma shape improves the kite performance
at every level. The Sigma Outline is an advanced engineering
design that increases the efficiency of our kites.
The Naish Sigma Outline is a radically re-shaped leading edge that moves a large portion of the centre canopy behind the tow point. The result is a perfectly balanced kite that delivers significant performance improvements in the areas of overall stability, bar pressure and feel, turning, and relaunch.

This illustration shows how the lifting surface remains in a safe neutral
zone behind the tow point even at extreme depower. This minimizes the
movement of the centre of effort, resulting in very even bar pressure
regardless of the kites flying position.
The performance of Sigma Outline kites combined with the Geo-Tech design is far superior to any bow concept in that the keeps the kite more stable than any bow, there is no inversion with Sigma Series kites, and they have a wider wind range due to more efficient profiles.
Overall, the Sigma design produces a balanced, linear power band combined with bar pressure that remains light but steady through a wide range of trim angles, creating a nearly perfect feedback loop between rider and kite.

The Naish Sigma leading edge
enables the rider to turn the kite at any speed with absolute
control. This Naish Sigma leading
edge produces a ‘hinge’ point at the centre
of the kite.
Unlike conventional kites that use a maximum of 30% of the
kite area to generate turning forces, the Naish Sigma cleanly
deforms from the centre to produce a highly effective turning
shape (comprised of nearly 50% of the total area) that responds
more quickly and accurately to rider input.
Naish Sigma Water Relaunch >
When Naish Sigma kites are on the water with the leading
edge facing down the reduced area of contact compared to
a conventional
bow kites allows the kite to be almost instantly re-launched.
During water relaunch the kite pivots on either shoulder point. The rapid recovery gives the rider confidence to try new moves with out the worry of losing time and ground.
The Naish Sigma kites offer the easiest relaunch in kiteboarding history.

The illustration above shows how the area in contact with the water has been greatly reduced, and how the kite is able to pivot off either ‘shoulder’ for relaunch.
Naish Kiteboarding
Power Foil Canopy:
The Naish Power Foil Canopy has horizontal seam shaping instead of vertical,
which makes the canopy looser than with the Geo-Tech construction resulting in
a kite that creates more instant lift.

Naish Universal Control Bar System

Riders of all levels, from pros to newcomers, will all gain substantial advantages from the new Naish Universal Control System.
The Naish 2010 Universal Control System has a new front line configuration. The front lines now have a 3m single line to a Y point. The front flagging leash system has been improved and weight saved by removing the stainless Centre Line Organizer and Swivel.
A 4-line or 5-line control system in a simple ergonomic layout. The 3m single centre line split allows the removal of heavy parts and allows the front line flagging leash and optional 5th Line Kit to function efficiently.
The Naish Control bar comes standard with the Smart Loop, auto-orienting sheeting loop, and optional sliding stopper.
The result is a simple and functional control system that provides the rider with greater confidence in its functionality in all situations.
With a greatly improved “through the bar” front line leash system, and new larger floaters, the 2010 Universal Control System is more streamlined and functional than ever before.
All kite sizes can be flown with the same bar.

Two
thumbs up! Charlie Railton >>
In the air the Helix is stable and gives a solid feel, I used the kite in a range of conditions and the low end is impressive with the sigma design stopping the kite from stalling when the wind all but dies. The added benefit compared to the Torch is that when you mess up a trick or overfly the kite in a jump, the sigma design keeps the Helix in the air and it gently drift back into the wind rather than doing a classic style dive to the ground.
The kite arrives on the lightest bar pressure setting, which was very light. Personally I like a bit of bar pressure, so I changed the rear pigtails to one setting in from the trailing edge and all of a sudden the bar pressure was to my taste. Often these rear line settings do not do much but they really seem to make a big difference on the Helix.
Staying at the bar, the depower is done through the chicken loop, keeping things above the bar very simple. This method does offer a massive amount of depower though. I took the 12 out when I really should have been on an 8 or 9 and simply pulled a load of rope through the cleat, the kite flew as it should, another great advantage of the Sigma design.
In comparison, the Naish Torch has great depower but I think the advantage of the Helix is that it works far better over a greater wind range making it a more diverse kite.
So riding this kite then, it is a Naish Cult with a load
of punch. The Cult produces lots of gradual
power but this
beast
will give you that sudden wallop of grunt if
you so choose. The
Helix turns about its tips where the Cult turns
on its centre, the turning is responsive and as
I have said
you can tune
the bar pressure to your own taste.
2 thumbs up to the Naish Helix!
