Rider Feeling:

In the hand, the Furia is ultra light and responsive. The bar feeling is very direct (C-kite like) to be precise while piloting. And piloting is the word, because the Furia is a really fast kite, it easily allows kiteloops and big wave riding.

Jumping ability is excellent with instant punch upwards and a huge amount of lift and hangtime.

While riding, the kite never falls out of the sky. Depower is efficient, just push the bar on it slowes down, ideal for gusty conditions. Upwind ability is also excellent.

 

The new MAX bar is easy to handle and to use.

Technical Kite:
Let’s explain the different technical points on the Furia, on how Takoon proposes a kite with both performance and simplicity.

Takoon worked first on a new profile with more aerodynamics, that did the trick!

The new leading edge design which lets a direct effort transfer, the independent profile between the centre and the tips, the struts’ unique location and the narrow tips, make the Furia more aerodynamic and easy to use because it is not a kite with a high aspect ratio.

Thanks to these points the kite turns much easier; it’s more solid and light in the air.

The target was to reduce the surface tips ( 02 ), to reduce drag, increase turning ability and get a better control in strong wind.

The surface thus gained went to the centre of the kite ( 01 ) where stiffness and power are needed.

The Deep profile gives low end power and good hang time. So the central strut is longer (less aspect ratio) and the tips are narrower, meaning more power is achieved (more surface to the kite centre) while drag is reduced (drag comes mostly from the tips), making the kite more aerodynamic.

 

These aspects give the Furia a unique turning ability for a flat profile kite.

 

The specific leading edge design along with the new shape of the tips shape allow the kite to turn on the tip, which is perfect for tricks and unhooked kiteloop.

 

Depower Ability:
Depower ability is really efficient on the Furia with a good bar feeling, light but still effective. Expert riders will get the perfect feeling to know exactly where the kite is during tricks.

Thanks to the innovative Furia shape, depower ability increases by 15%, so Takoon reduced the depower length in order
to reduce kite power.

As the distance between the front lines and the back lines is shorter on the FURIA ( X ) than on the NOVA 2 ( Y) , for the same depower rate (when you push the bar) you will get more depower with the FURIA (the kite loosens power).

Technical Features: The specific bridle system and the new kite shape gives the kite more reactivity.   The new Dacron cloth on the tips offers more stiffness, and therefore more reactivity to the kite.

The Takoon Furia is a lighter kite (25% less than Nova2 for example) as it only has 5 struts, which are also thinner than before, and it’s a medium aspect ratio kite.   This makes the kite fly better, it never falls out of the sky, and it is ideal for wave riding and tricks.   This kind of flat profile kite offers a huge wind range and an easy re-launch by just pulling on a rear line. The overall performance of the kite was increased but not to the detriment of other aspects.

By pushing the bar - Depower position- the kite swivels frontward and power is decreased.

By pulling the bar, the kite gains powers and accelerates.

 

An adjustment strap on the front lines allow for accurate trimming. Unlike with regular kites, you will be able to manoeuvre the Furia in all conditions because the rear lines never go slack.

Revolutionary Shape:

The shape of the kite has had a look-over under each seam:

• Leading edge diameter reduced by 10% for more aerodynamism. Enough to prevent inversed kite
  problems.
• Thinner struts to reduce drag making the kite is lighter.
• The exclusive Furia bridle makes for a very stable kite because it fully supports the leading edge
  which undergoes important changes of pressure.
• This stability allows to the Furia to be more reactive.
• Although equal in size to classical kites, the Furia has a higher projected surface area, offering more power and more lift. A classical kite will give off, in terms of power, only 50% against 80% for the Furia, which is even smaller and lighter.

Depower Control Bar

Takoon Max Safety Control Bar: The new Max bar comes with the Furia kite. Based on the same concept which integrates both the control system and the kite, the new Max bar offers the best level performance and safety.   The last innovations of the Max bar allow a perfect integration of the safety leash, perfect for infinite loops! Also the new Max winder offers 2 bar size in 1. Ride all sizes of kite with only one bar. Regarding the kite size you ride, switch from 47 to 55cm easily. The level of security of the Furia is at its highest level thanks to its revolutionary shape. In depower position without stopper, the kite goes neutral and lands without any more power. The kite is held only by its leading edge. The rider stays connected to the kite through the harness loop. Using the stopper to untwist lines reduces the safety aspect; it is advised not to grip it too much. The control system remains equipped with a regular quick release in case of emergency and also has a safety leash.
	Adjustable Stopper developed by TAKOON is the first 100 % adjustable system for FULL de-power. It allows each rider to tune their de-power system to their favourite spot or style!
The functioning is easy : An adjustable stopper ball sliding along the de-power rope to set up your own de-power zone.   A new clam-cleat trimming system to adjust power. The NTS system is made to provide maximum safety. By screwing up slightly, the stopper will slide up after a frank ‘let go’. The Furia being a 100 % de-power kite, has the power go down to zero and kite is neutral. Safety is total.
	Free-sliding mode. By not screwing the stopper, it can slide and goes up into the upper part. The kite is then neutral and rider is in the total safety position. So just let go the bar for total safety. Ideal for school, beginner or gusty/dangerous conditions.
	Safety catch mode. The safety catch position is materialised by a higher diameter on the de-power rope.Located at about 35 cm from the rider. By screwing the stopper slightly, the kite benefits from a safety catch zone and won’t move all the way up. In this zone, the bar is naturally stopped on its way up in a ‘normal’ riding situation. By pushing the bar up , it goes passed the safety zone and can then slide all the way up again. Ideal for most conditions & waveriding. You get huge de-power to try all the new tricks.
	Set mode. By screwing the stopper tighter whatever its position (below or above the safety catch zone), the control system works like a classical C kite. The stopper is fixed and stays in place. Ideal for radical tricks, unhooked manoeuvres Warning : this set up mode is extreme and asks for a classical release on the chicken loop in case of danger.
Passive Security System The priniciple behind the safety system is simple and straight-forward. You will accquire confidence right from the start with the Furia. Nothing to release! Simply by letting go of thebar, the kite will go neutral and lands without any more power. The kite is held only by it's leading edge. The control system slide about 1.50m away and can be easily retrieved through the depower line. The control system remains equipped with a regular quick release in case of emergency and full separation.
Relaunching without swimming: a)The neutral positions provides full safety. b)Simply by pulling in the rear line, the kite moves to the edge of the window and is ready to relaunch. c)No need to swim towards the kite to make it rotate. d)No need to re-load a safety system after a <<safety action>>.
Depower Adjustment Strap: The Max control bar comes with an adjustment strap located on the depower line. The strap allows the kite to adapt to varying wind conditions. When the line is fully extended, the kite generate it's full power, exactly as when you pull on the control bar. By shortening the strap, the kite gets less power. To regain power, pull on the trim strap. You will be able to gradually increase the power of your kite by slowly pulling on the trim strap.
Single Inflation: All the bladders on the Takoon Furia inflate via one single valve placed on the leading edge. Double valves on the leading edge for quick deflation. Simple and quick to repair. Independent struts to adjust the pressure on each bladder separately. How Does it Work: Each strut is designed independently. Linked to each other means you can inflate your kite all at once with the valve on the leading edge without losing time or pressure. Each strut however also has an anti-valve, which allow you to check the pressure of each strut on its own. This valve also allows the kite to deflate completely. This system allows you to isolate any pierced strut and won't prevent you from continuing your session. If you're still in a hurry, simply only deflate the leading edge.
