The GoPro HD HERO2 Outdoor Edition is the most advanced GoPro camera yet. Wearable and gear mountable, waterproof to 197' (60m), capable of capturing professional full 170º wide angle 1080p video and 11 megapixel photos at a rate of 10 photos per second, the HD HERO2 is the world’s most versatile camera.

 

The HD Hero2 looks very similar to the original which allows it to fit into the existing housings. However, GoPro have improved the user experience with a bonifide user interface now occupying the tiny LCD rather than the single character menu system. The camera now has LED status lights on four sides rather than just the front also.

 

The new sensor and processor allows for incredible burst modes: 10 photos per second or one every 0.5 seconds. The faster sensor allows for 960p at 48 frames per second, 720p at 60 fps or WVGA at 120 fps. Plus, the sensor is capable of still photos at 11 megapixels, a huge upgrade from the 5MP sensor in the HD Hero.

 

 

The new model also has an mini-HDMI port, and 3.5mm external stereo mic input along with a 3.5mm composite video port. Like the HD Hero, the HD Hero2 is also compatible with the BacPac add-ons including the upcoming WiFi BacPac that will add remote management through a small wireless remote and even your smartphone.

The GoPro HD Helmet HERO 2 is the world’s highest performance wearable 1080p HD video and still photo camera. Professional quality 1080p / 960p / 720p HD resolutions record at 30 and 60 frames per second (60 fps in 720p). Record up to 4 hours on a single charge and up to 9 hours total on a 32GB SD card (not included).

 

In addition to HD video, this digital action sports helmet cam also shoots 5MP still photographs at 2/5/10/30 or 60 second intervals. Press the shutter button once and record up to 4 hours of poster-print quality POV photos of you and your friends’ most memorable moments.

 

Helmet camera mount options include a headlamp style head strap that you can quickly share with your friends, a lace-through strap-mount for vented helmets, two curved and two flat adhesive mounts for attaching to gear, vehicles or whatever else moves you.
