Wider tips and a forgiving rocker gets the board planing and upwind quickly. The wood core provides bomb proof durability and liveliness for the life of the board.

The Cabrinha Rival is the perfect first board as it will get a rider tracking upwind with its easy to control handling. From there it’ll grow with you as you quickly progress through the stages.

 

When it comes to the performance / value equation, the Cabrinha Rival has no competition. With a milled Paulownia wood core and an ABS sidewall construction, the Cabrinha Rival is built to withstand the elements.

 

Its flat bottom provides an easy and forgiving ride in any and all conditions. The Paulownia wood core is responsible for its flex and dampening through the choppy water. The fast rocker will get a rider up on a plane quickly yet allow him or her to control their speed through the Rival's edge control.

 

Built to last, the combination of a wood core and biax glass present a unique blend of weight and durability.

 

The 6” (15.24 cm) insert pattern also accepts standard foot straps, Sync backless bindings, or a wakeboard boot so you can upgrade your straps if needed.

 

It’s this versatility that makes the Rival the perfect entry level board that will grow with your ability.

 

Paulownia Wood Core:
Vertically laminated Paulownia stringers produce a high compression / lightweight core. Paulownia has one of the highest strength to weight ratios of all wood species. The result is simple. Bullet proof, with a smooth consistent flex pattern.

Average density: 310kg/m3

 

Bi-Axial Fibreglass Laminate:
A simplified weave ensuring durability with a loose feel.

 

Hardglass:
A pre-laminated fibreglass thats pre-tensioned and cured under pressure. We apply this to the board in strategic locations to increase strength with a minimal increase to the weight.

 

Top and Bottom Sheet:
A lightweight and tough material. UV and scratch resistance properties make it perfect for Kiteboard production.

 

ABS Rails:
The ABS sidewall is laminated to the core during the lay-up process. It's designed to increase the strength while ensuring a smooth, durable and consistent ride.

 

Core Profile:
All of Cabrinha's core are produced with CNC milling. This means that every core is true to their design. Flex, profile and manufacturing consistency are all exact every time.

 

Flex Pattern (True Twin Flex):
A symetric pattern provides and identical flex, forward or switch, ideal for all types of riding conditions.

 

Mounting System (Stainless Steel Inserts):
Based on the industry standard 6 inch (15.24cm) pattern. Cabrinha's stainless steel inserts are custom made to eliminate pull out and spinning. Cabrinha's inserts are all 1/4-20 thread and sized to properly fit the core profiles. They are inserted from the bottom of the core, glued and are in for good.

Arrangement / Layup (Laminate):
Each board has its own unique layup. Cabrinha have tested many different laminates to produce the best combination of strength and weight. The Cores are profiled to dial in the specific flex for a design. Then the laminate is applied to support the flex and increase strength.

 

Cabrinha Rival CO-AX Footbeds + Straps:

Cabrinha have designed an entirely new component set to lower the weight and to raise the finish standard even higher. Cabrinha's new 3D moulded foot pad fits like a well worn shoe. The dual density EVA will cradle your foot from side to side and protect it from the impact of hard landings. The widebody adjustable foot strap is extremely simple to attach and easy to adjust to a perfect fit.

 

The CO-AX footstrap is a full coverage, fully supported footstrap which can quickly adjust to different foot sizes. The new CO-AX has added padding in the arch for an even more comfortable ride. It is made with durable nylon, neoprene and EVA.

 

Cabrinha 3D CO-AX Footbeds:

The Rival CO-AX footbeds have been designed with performance, ease of use, and is lightweight. The 3D shaping of the footbed cradles the foot and reduces fatigue with its soft molded EVA. The custom cut grip EVA inlay provides a solid, no slip feel and the entire footbed is canted inwards to align the knees. The internal plate is pre-curved and lightweight.

 

Cabrinha Wideboy Adjustable Footstraps:

The widebody adjustable footstrap is designed to fit a wide range of feet with the best combination of fit, function, and styling. The strap features a side mounted EVA that will keep the strap at all ranges of adjustment. The dual velcro allows the strap body to be centered on the foot and also makes mounting easy. This feature also allows the strap to be left on the board for travelling.

 

Stance Options:
The stance options provided are design specific based on the rider size and style. The Rival features a 15/18 footstrap stance to suit the smaller target rider.

 

The Cabrinha Rival also comes standard with 4 high quality glass fins and a handle.

Design Elements:

Rocker: The rocker is a key element in the overall feel and performance of your board. Cabrinha use four distinct rockers based on the performance targets of the boards.
Flex Pattern: A symmetric pattern provides an identical flex, forward or switch, ideal for all types of riding conditions. The center sections are stiffer to give excellent edge control. Controlled flex in the tips give the boards pop and control in all water conditions.
Stance Options: A crazy amount of stance options are available now with the addition of inserts for use with Sync and Wake Stance Options.
3D CO-AX Foot Pads: The new generation CO-AX foot pads have been redesigned with performance. lightweight and ease of use. The new moulded EVA mid section reduces weight. As well the plate has been canted to give better ergonomics. A new outline provides a solid foot position and integrates the cut EVA grip area. The interal plastic is pre-curved and has the weight greatly reduced.
Wideboy Adjustable Footstrap: The strap has been totally redesigned for the new model. Fit, function, styling and ease of mounting have all been addressed. Traditional footstraps lose their fit as the strap gets bigger or smaller. By adding two side adjustments, the strap stays centred on your foot. The internally moulded Side Curtain EVA elimates any contact with the adjustment webbing no matter how large you make the strap. Even when the strap is in it's smallest setting - there is no added bulk. The outboard tongue can be removed to allow easy mounting of the strap. This feature also allows the strap to be left on the board for travelling.
Board Tech:

Then the laminate is applied to support the flex and increase strength.
ABS Rails: The ABS sidewall is laminated to the core during the lay-up process. It’s designed to increase the strength while ensuring a smooth, durable and consistent ride. All rails are finished with our custom shaping to provide precise edge control and smooth transition.
Graphic Foil: A light-weight and tough material. It’s UV and scratch resistance properties make it perfect for kite board production.
Stainless Steel Inserts: Cabrinha's stainless steel inserts are custom made to eliminate pull out and spinning. Our inserts are all M-6 thread and sized to properly fit the core profiles. They are inserted in the core during the lay-up process and are in for good.
Future Fin System: Future fin boxes are the most user friendly and strongest removable fin system available on the market. The system offers all the positive features of removable fins, while providing better performance than glass-on fins.
Wood Stringer: Reinforced Wood stringers adds strength while allowing flex to the surfboard range.
